A project to make drama and documentary with young people for social impact and change.
Three children in every class now suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder, according to statistics from YoungMinds.
At In Your Shoes, we believe that exploring children’s mental health in a creative and supported way can increase confidence, self-esteem and an understanding of some of the underlying issues.
Our approach blends drama and documentary filmmaking techniques to tell authentic stories grounded in the experiences of young peoples’ lives.
The films centre on a relevant theme, for example, pressures of drug and alcohol use, bullying or eating disorders. These are explored through discussion leading into script-writing.
We would love to hear from youth workers and youth organizations about the challenges facing young people and to discuss how we can work together.
